The National Service Scheme (NSS) is a Central Sector Scheme of Government of India, Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports. The aim of NSS is to provide hands-on experience to young students in delivering community service.
Started in 1969, NSS is a voluntary association of young people in colleges, universities and at +2 level working for a campus-community linkage. The main objective is the development of personality through community service. "National Service Scheme (NSS) is beneficial to both students as well as the society in various different means. NSS helps the student to grow individually and also as a group. It makes the students confident, develop leadership skills, and gain knowledge about different people from different walks of life..
"Not Me But You" reflects the essence of democratic living and upholds the need for selfless service.
NSS helps students develop appreciation for other person's point of view and shows consideration towards other living beings.

Jaya Agricultural College is one of the Jaya Group of Educational Institutions run by Jaya Educational Trust Thiruninravur. This is the first Agricultural College in Tiruvallur District and is affiliated with TNAU, Coimbatore.
